Bank connection keeps failing

27% of reviewsCritical Rising
My bank connection drops every few days now and reconnecting it wipes out months of transaction categorization I'd already done by hand. I've had to redo the same cleanup work at least five times this year.
1★ · 2w ago
I've been getting an 'unable to connect to your bank' error on and off for almost a month straight, sometimes for days at a time. Meanwhile my budget looks wildly wrong because half my transactions just aren't coming through.
1★ · 2w ago
Every time it prompts me to re-link my account it treats it as a brand new connection and loses all the categories I'd assigned. At this point I dread seeing that notification more than I dread checking my actual balance.
2★ · 3w ago
Suggested fix: Move off the current aggregator's polling-only integration to one with webhook-based reconnect, and stop clearing transaction categories on re-link.

Budgets don't roll over correctly

18% of reviewsHigh Flat
Whatever I don't spend from my grocery budget is supposed to roll into savings at month's end, but it just vanishes into nothing instead. I've lost track of how much that's actually cost me over the past few months.
2★ · 2w ago
I set a monthly budget for dining out and halfway through the month it silently reset itself back to zero with no explanation. All the spending I'd tracked against it just disappeared from the total.
1★ · 3w ago
The rollover toggle has been switched on in my settings for three months straight and I still haven't seen a single dollar actually roll over. Either the feature doesn't work or it's not doing what the description says.
2★ · 4w ago
Suggested fix: Audit the month-boundary rollover job -- it's silently resetting balances instead of carrying them forward when the toggle is enabled.

Recurring-bill detection misses real subscriptions

12% of reviewsHigh Rising
The recurring-bill detector completely missed two subscriptions I've been paying for over a year, including one that just increased in price without me noticing. Isn't catching exactly that kind of thing the whole point of this feature?
2★ · 2w ago
It flags obvious things like my phone bill just fine but misses anything that charges on a slightly different day each month. Half my actual recurring costs never show up in that section at all.
2★ · 3w ago
I found out about a forgotten subscription only because I happened to scroll through my raw transaction list, not because the app ever flagged it as recurring. That's exactly the blind spot I was hoping this app would close.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Expand the recurring-bill matching model to handle irregular billing cycles and merchant-name variants instead of only exact-interval repeats.
#4

Reports tab freezes or loads slowly

11% of reviewsMedium Flat
The reports tab freezes for a good ten seconds every single time I open it, long enough that I've genuinely wondered if the app crashed. It's the screen I actually want to check most often and it's the slowest one in the whole app.
2★ · 3w ago
Loading more than a few months of spending history basically locks up the whole app until it finally catches up. On my older phone it's close to unusable.
2★ · 4w ago
I switched to checking my spending trends through raw exports instead of the reports screen because waiting for it to load every time got old fast. A budgeting app whose own reports are slow defeats the purpose a bit.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Add pagination and caching to the reports query instead of recomputing the full transaction history from scratch on every open.

Notifications are constant and can't be customized

9% of reviewsMedium Flat
I get four or five push notifications a day just nagging me to check my spending, on top of separate alerts for every category I'm anywhere near the limit on. It's become the most notification-heavy app on my entire phone.
2★ · 2w ago
There's no way to turn off the 'you're close to your limit' alerts individually, it's all or nothing for every category at once. I only wanted to mute one that I intentionally overspend on sometimes.
2★ · 3w ago
The notification volume got so bad that I ended up muting the whole app, which means I now also miss the one alert I actually cared about. Granular control would fix this in an afternoon.
1★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Add per-alert-type toggles instead of a single all-or-nothing notification switch.
#6

Can't split a transaction across categories

8% of reviewsMedium Improving
I can't split a single grocery run between food and household categories even though that's a completely normal thing to want in any budgeting app. I end up just picking whichever category feels closest and my numbers are never quite right.
2★ · 3w ago
A single big purchase that covers two categories always throws off my whole monthly breakdown because there's no way to divide it. This feels like a pretty basic gap for something this app is built specifically to do.
2★ · 4w ago
I've taken to manually noting split purchases in a separate notes app because there's no way to do it here. Kind of defeats the purpose of tracking everything in one place.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Add a split-transaction feature that lets a single line item be divided and posted across multiple categories.
#7

Subscription price increased without clear notice

7% of reviewsMedium Rising
My subscription jumped forty percent at renewal and the only notice was a single email that I happened to catch before it went to spam. A change that size deserves more than one easy-to-miss email.
2★ · 3w ago
Renewal price went up noticeably with zero warning inside the app itself, not even a small banner. I only found out when I checked my card statement afterward.
2★ · 4w ago
I don't mind a price increase for a product I actually use daily, but I do mind finding out about it after the fact instead of before I was charged. A heads-up would have been enough.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Give at least 30 days' advance notice of any price change through an in-app banner, not only a single email.
#8

Search can't find older transactions

6% of reviewsMedium Flat
Searching for a transaction from more than a couple of months back comes up completely empty even though I know it's in there somewhere. I ended up scrolling manually through months of history to find one purchase.
2★ · 1mo ago
Search seems to only index recent statements, so anything older basically doesn't exist as far as finding it goes. For an app whose whole job is tracking my spending history, that's a strange thing to leave out.
2★ · 2mo ago
I needed to find a return I'd made last year for a warranty claim and gave up after several minutes of searching turned up nothing. Had to dig through my bank's own records instead.
2★ · 2mo ago
Suggested fix: Extend transaction search to the full account history instead of only recent statements, and index merchant names for partial matches.
#9

iPad layout is just a stretched phone screen

5% of reviewsMedium Improving
The iPad version is obviously just the phone layout stretched wider, with huge empty margins on both sides and several buttons that are genuinely hard to reach. It doesn't feel like anyone actually designed for the bigger screen.
2★ · 2mo ago
Half the interactive elements sit right at the edge of the screen in the tablet layout, which makes them awkward to tap one-handed. A proper tablet layout would fix this in one pass.
2★ · 2mo ago
I mostly check my budget on my tablet at home and the stretched-out phone interface makes it feel like an afterthought compared to the phone app. Hoping this gets real attention at some point.
2★ · 2mo ago
Suggested fix: Ship a dedicated tablet layout with resizable panes instead of scaling the phone interface up to fit.
