Sync breaks across devices

24% of reviewsCritical Rising
My entire workout history vanished when I switched from my phone to my tablet last week. I contacted support and they told me there was nothing they could do to recover three years of logged runs.
1★ · 2w ago
Steps and heart rate sync fine over wifi, but the moment I leave the house it just stops updating until I force-close and reopen the app. Half my outdoor runs never make it into my history at all.
2★ · 2w ago
I started tracking on my old phone, then set up my new watch expecting everything to carry over automatically like the store listing promised. None of my history, goals, or streaks came across, and support couldn't explain why.
1★ · 3w ago
Suggested fix: Add a conflict-resolution step to the sync service instead of silently dropping the losing device's data, and surface a manual "force resync" action in settings.

App crashes mid-workout

17% of reviewsHigh Flat
The app crashed three separate times during a single interval session this morning, and each time it lost the whole workout instead of resuming where I left off. I've started keeping a stopwatch running as backup because I don't trust it anymore.
1★ · 2w ago
Every single time I try to start an interval timer the app force closes within a few seconds. I've reinstalled it twice and cleared the cache and nothing has fixed it.
2★ · 3w ago
It handles walks fine but crashes reliably the moment my heart rate climbs above about 150, which is exactly when I actually need it to be tracking. Feels like it can't handle its own core feature under real load.
1★ · 4w ago
Suggested fix: Fix the memory leak in the live-workout renderer that's the most common crash trigger, and add crash reporting scoped specifically to that screen so regressions surface immediately.

GPS route tracking drifts and misreads distance

13% of reviewsHigh Rising
My run route on the map looks like it was drawn by someone shaking the phone, cutting straight through buildings I definitely didn't run through. Distance came out almost half a mile short of what my usual loop actually measures.
2★ · 2w ago
GPS lock takes forever outdoors now, sometimes a full two minutes standing still before it even starts recording. By the time it locks on I've already lost the first chunk of my warm-up.
2★ · 3w ago
Pace and distance numbers don't match what I'm actually running, consistently off by ten to fifteen percent on the same course I've run for years. It makes every personal-best comparison meaningless.
2★ · 4w ago
Suggested fix: Fuse GPS with accelerometer data instead of relying on GPS alone, and cap the route-smoothing algorithm so it stops rounding out real turns and undercutting distance.
#4

Heart-rate readings are inaccurate during workouts

11% of reviewsCritical Rising
During a hard interval set my heart rate reading dropped to 60 while I could clearly feel it pounding, then spiked to 190 a minute later while I was standing still recovering. I don't know how anyone is supposed to train off numbers like that.
1★ · 2w ago
The optical sensor seems to lose the signal completely any time my wrist gets sweaty, which for a workout app is basically the whole point it needs to work. It just flatlines at some random number and stays there.
2★ · 3w ago
I compared it against a chest strap during the same session and the numbers were off by twenty to thirty beats per minute for most of the workout. That's not a rounding error, that's a reading I can't trust for anything.
1★ · 4w ago
Suggested fix: Increase the optical sensor's sampling rate during high-intensity intervals and let users pair an external chest strap as the source of truth instead of only the wrist sensor.

Battery drains much faster since the last update

10% of reviewsHigh Flat
Battery used to easily last me two full days between charges and now it's dead by dinnertime even on days I barely open the app. Something in the last update is clearly running constantly in the background.
2★ · 2w ago
I went from 48 hours of battery life to needing a charge every single night after updating. Nothing about my usage changed, so it has to be the app.
2★ · 3w ago
My watch used to survive a whole week of light use and now it can barely make it three days. Uninstalling other apps didn't help so it has to be this one eating the battery in the background.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Audit the background location and heart-rate polling introduced in the last release, and throttle both when the app isn't actively tracking a workout.

Login sessions keep timing out

9% of reviewsMedium Improving
I have to log back in almost every single morning even though I never actively log out of anything. It's a small thing but it's incredibly annoying right before an early workout when I just want to hit start.
2★ · 1w ago
My session expires mid-workout now and then, and when it does I completely lose the ability to see my live stats until I re-authenticate. Coming back from an unrelated screen shouldn't require a full login.
2★ · 3w ago
The password reset email never arrived after I got logged out unexpectedly, so I ended up just creating an entirely new account to get back into my own workouts. I still haven't been able to merge the two.
1★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Extend the session token lifetime and fix the transactional password-reset email deliverability issue.
#7

Too many ads interrupt workouts

8% of reviewsMedium Flat
Getting a full-screen ad between every single set is more disruptive to my workout than actually resting would be. I understand needing to monetize a free tier but not mid-session.
2★ · 4w ago
An ad popped up right as I finished my last rep and by the time I closed it my rest timer had already run out. It's actively working against the thing the app is supposed to help me do.
2★ · 4w ago
I'd genuinely consider paying to remove ads if that option were clearer, but right now they interrupt often enough that I've started just using a plain stopwatch instead.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Suppress ad breaks entirely during an active workout session, showing them only between sessions on the free tier.

Subscription price jumped with no new features

7% of reviewsMedium Rising
My premium subscription renewed at almost double what I signed up for with basically no notice beyond a single email buried in a folder I don't check. Nothing about the app itself has changed to justify it.
1★ · 2w ago
Price doubled at renewal and the app looks and works identically to a year ago. If there were new features to go with it I'd understand, but there aren't.
2★ · 1mo ago
I only noticed the increase when I checked my bank statement, since the app never surfaced it anywhere before charging me. That's not how you keep long-term subscribers around.
2★ · 1mo ago
Suggested fix: Grandfather existing subscribers at their current price and apply increases only to new sign-ups, or ship features that justify the increase before charging for it.

No dark mode and limited watch-face choices

5% of reviewsMedium Flat
Still no dark mode in an app that people open first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Every other app on my phone figured this out years ago.
2★ · 1mo ago
Watch face options are extremely limited compared to basically anything else on the same watch. I'd like to actually customize what I'm looking at during a run.
2★ · 2mo ago
Onboarding asks for contacts and microphone permissions that a fitness tracker has no obvious reason to need. I said no to both and the app still nags me about it every few days.
2★ · 2mo ago
Suggested fix: Ship a true OLED-friendly dark theme and expand watch-face options beyond the current single default layout.
